Parenting is simply the most challenging job there is, while at the same time, also the most rewarding. Major changes in society over the past four decades have made this job increasingly difficult (and even confusing at times). Parents need and deserve all the support and practical guidance they can get, to assist them through those important years when raising young children.
Communicate for Success offers two programs to help parents develop skills which will empower them to feel confident in their parenting role.
RAISING RESILIENT CHILDREN WHO BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES
This workshop offers parents a practical guide to help their children master the emotional and social abilities needed to develop into self-confident and well-adjusted young people.
Research studies have confirmed the importance of Emotional Intelligence and the earlier a child learn these skills, the more success they will have in forming and maintaining meaningful social relationships with their peers. “The single best childhood predictor of adult adaptation is not IQ, not school grades and not classroom behaviour, but rather the adequacy with which the child gets along with other children”. (Hartup, 1002)
EFFECTIVE PARENTING COURSE
Because parents and the home environment have significant effects on the child ’s early learning experiences, it is critically important that parents develop a constructive approach to parenting which in turn will contribute towards positive outcomes for both parents and children. Parenting CAN be a happy and pleasurable experience.
This course covers a number of important aspects of child development and explores strategies for effective parenting including:
